“Workshops directed by: Catherine Contour, Yves-Noël Genod, Pierre Leguillon, Gwénaël Morin.
Les Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers proposed from 28 August to 9 September 2006 four training workshops directed by artists hailing from a variety of artistic fields and intended for young artists or students (Fine Arts schools, contemporary dance training centres, theatre schools, universities, etc.). For this fourth training session, the Laboratories d’Aubervilliers continued the experience initiated in 2002, with the aim of opening up a reflection in acts on tools, contents and transmission of contemporary artistic practices.” (Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers)
C. Contour workshop – Presentation note (extract):
“A few clues on the 10/05/06:
INHABIT -> Track down the chinks / Take up position
and DIFFERENT -> camouflages / collections / savings / hybridities / intensities / games / panoplies / body practices to try-invent / proportions / naps / survivals / times / territories / speeds, etc.
Observations:
A large number of experimentations took place one after the other on the way to inhabit a space, to cohabit there, with fetish objects, sound, texts, by moving around (in the Laboratories, in front of them, in the district) with specific focus on variations of rhythms in a wide range of nuances from very slow to as fast as possible, in working of the body and its actions, such as guided napping or lightning-fast actions. Proximity with Yves-Noël Genod’s workshop, the Laboratories’ team and its visitors offered us many opportunities for infiltration, piracy and even testimony, a plagiarism of the site’s presentation leaflet.
